Concepts

This case-sensitive code system http://terminology.hl7.org/CodeSystem/v2-0950 defines the following codes in a Is-A hierarchy:

CodeDisplayDefinitionV2 Concept CommentHL7 Concept Usage Notes
EOE Expiration on event The order status auto-expires when a specified event occurs
EOT Expiration on time The order status is timed and will auto-expire once the prescribed time interval has passed For example this code would be used to indicate that the order is not currently being worked on but has been placed on a time limited hold awaiting a replacement order. If the hold time expires, default processing will resume. Filler Applications: In an order replacement setting, sent in recommendation for order replacement message (OML), where ORC-5 = HD, indicating that the hold for a response to the recommendation is timed.
