1  ACUshort term/acute**Definition:**A list of medications which the patient is only expected to consume for the duration of the current order or limited set of orders and which is not expected to be renewed.
1  CHRONcontinuous/chronic**Definition:**A list of medications which are expected to be continued beyond the present order and which the patient should be assumed to be taking unless explicitly stopped.
1  ONETone time**Definition:**A list of medications which the patient is intended to be administered only once.
1  PRNas needed**Definition:**A list of medications which the patient will consume intermittently based on the behavior of the condition for which the medication is indicated.
